ECE EVIDENCE SHARING WORKSHOP, ORGANIZED BY EDUCATION SECTOR RESEARCH GROUP.

GNECC participated in an Early Childhood Education event organized by the Education Sector Research Group on March 9, 2023, discussing the ECE Policy and Implementation. Student teachers were highlighted as underestimated. 48 districts have been oriented on the ECE policy, and training for student teachers is ongoing. UNICEF will provide funding for family community engagement. Structures are being implemented to protect vulnerable children. Credible research is essential for progress in early childhood education. The gender disparity in ECE teachers is decreasing. The Ministry of Education must prioritize monitoring, evaluation, and research. Prof. Eric Ananga emphasized the lack of understanding of play-based pedagogy among ECE teachers. Intentional teacher placements are needed for less privileged communities.
